The University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy is calling for papers for its spring conference on current public finance challenges. The proposal deadline is January 15, 2023. Possible topic areas include, but are not limited to:
- The effects of inflation on the finances of governments
- Intersections between climate and budget policy
- Social equity in public budgeting and tax policy
- Cannabis taxes and other innovations in revenue policy
- Governance issues in public finance
- The use of big data and data analytics for public budgeting and finance
- Financing capital projects
- Federal budgeting challenges and reforms
- Current developments in state and local finance
- Financial challenges in retirement systems
