Alex Hathaway is a senior research associate at the Public Finance Research Cluster (PFRC), specializing in state fiscal health. He is the principal investigator for the cluster’s evaluations of budgeting and financial management practices, primarily alongside the New York-based Volcker Alliance and their Truth and Integrity in Government Finance initiative. Hathaway also directs PFRC communications and strategic management. He holds a BA and MA from the University of Georgia, an MPP from Georgia State University, and a doctorate from Life University. His other areas of interest include healthcare systems and financing, aging policy, and program evaluation.
